I was just written up in an article in the Rickie Report and thrilled to share the link here:
The Rickie Report: Meet Dorene Ginzler
See why, “It’s All About Color” on Wednesday, January 24, 4-6pm when I will demonstrate my watercolor painting techniques on paper and talk about inspirations and influences for my artworks.
First, I paint with the hand made cotton paper with clean water, and quickly paint over it with delicious colors working wet on wet, then apply sea salt to get the bursts just in time. The real beauty happens in the over-night drying process and the images take on a life of it’s own. I like to call this technique of painting controlled spontaneity.
